I am not complaining, but I am surprised there has not been an Osees name change or reversion this year with Brigid back and the return to the weirdo psych. I have been a fan of the punk era the last few years but I am in for whatever John does. I just wish he would return to the Twin Cities.
I like it a bit lol. My favourite of theirs since A Foul Form.

OK, I really like this, but the other (recent) stuff I had heard didn’t really click with me. Are there other albums I should check out that are more like this?
New Eddy Current Suppression Ring rips:
I don’t think they’re well known outside Australia, but they were the best garage rock going around the time King Gizzard formed, and very influential on Eric in particular. They’ve been mostly absent since then too so this is a bit of a comeback.
Couple of Gizzard adjacent releases today.
First is Leah Senior’s new album Pt. Roadknight:
They really have the whole band in action now and nailing the big folk revival/baroque sound, even with some brass. But of course Leah’s songwriting and vocals are painfully real as ever and carry quite a few sparse arrangements that she’s still a master of too.
Then the new Pond, Terrestrials:
I’ve never really been a big Pond fan but this one stands out to me with a bit more energy and a kind of synthwave sound that suits them well. It nearly feels like they were gearing up for a big Tainted Love cover or something. Pretty cool.

I’ve been digging the new Pond as well – they’re hit or miss for me and this one hits. Getting a lot of 80s/The Cars vibes on this one.
Just got a Bandcamp notification that there’s a new Spacemoth album today:
It’s more synth-pop in parts than I would normally be into, but has enough psych-ish and space-y parts that I really enjoyed it. Slightly envious of FOV folks that they’ll get to hear them.

My copy of the new Leah Senior arrived today. Loving it from the needle-drop. 1st track has big Fairport Convention vibes. Really nice stuff!

Really digging it. Jumps back and forth between glitchy click/pops/wobbles and melodic plucks over some very enjoyable rhythms.

Yeah was very disappointing to not get to see them in the end. Next time I guess, still hoping it represent more acts like that closer to me though.
