Absolutely beyond fuckin stoked to see Hannah at FOV
Oh yeah! I happened to put this on last night. What a GREAT listen. One of the best new albums I’ve heard.
Tony Williams New Lifetime - Million Dollar Legs
Link should be one of the most famous musicians in the world. His influence on artists like Pete Townshend, Jimmy Page, Mark E. Smith, Iggy Pop, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young and many, many others can’t be overestimated. He pretty much invented modern rock music. On top of that, he just was a great person.
Worldcolour - Ratios I, II and III. A set of three two-song EPs. Learned about Worldcolour through Bullant and the recent Gizz DJ set as Ratios III appeared during those shows. Pretty out there (“Rapture” even has microtones) but its a good listen.
Tom Lehrer - That Was The Year That Was. Lehrer passed away today. Found his music a few years ago when he released all of his music into the public domain and he quickly became one of my favorite songwriters.
Happy 1st birthday piggies! I can’t believe it’s only been one year since the deal with the devil in the fuselage! Easily my most listened to album of the year.
Shakti - A Handful of Beauty
One of those bands that existed for a way too short period of time.
Now listening to Melvins - Complete Atlantic Recordings (1993-1996)
The are such a brutal force live. You have to listen to them loud!
Not actually an album, just a playlist of Motörhead ballads on YouTube. They hit so hard.
Those lyrics tell you what kind of person Lemmy really was. “Don’t let daddy kiss you” is heartbreaking, so is “One more fucking time” and “1916”, however, every single one is so strong in its own right.
Oh hey I’m seeing those guys this weekend! Really looking forward to it, never caught em live before or kept up with their new music so not entirely sure what I’m in for, but I’m sure it’ll be great
Have your ear protection with you, you’ll need it. No joke!
Just saw Redd Kross will open for them, enjoy them, they are really fun. Stephen Shane McDonald and Dale Crover are members of that band, too.
Listed to grey Britain by gallows on the way to work this morning
RJD2 Deadringer
Toxicity - system of a down. Seeing them live tonight with korn and polyphia
Pretty much a perfect album. Only bangers, most of them are still played regularly.
I suppose this is a bit of an acquired taste, but I love it.
