I’m seeing confirmation via Reddit that the “short” version actually has 3 vinyl exclusive tracks NOT available on the extended. The biggest headfake in Gizz vinyl history… so far. (I can’t decide if it’s hilarious or infuriating.)
I was wondering about these 3 tracks I saw on genius:

Just ordered a Crystal Ball version, why not ![]()
Really cool album. I love how the extended mixes of certain songs contain quotes from Petro-Dragonic Apocalypse songs of the same track number (Motor Spirit in Theia, Gila in Gilgamesh, and Flamethrower in Extinction). Just ordered the 2LP ![]()
Awesome observation about the parallel track numbers!
Thanks! It actually goes deeper than i first thought, lol. As far as I can tell, the Silver Cord is the only extended version without a quote of the corresponding PDA track. Which is a shame because Silver Cord/Supercell would go hard
Damn you’re right! Although there is kinda a parallel lyric at the very start of Swan Song
Drink your booze and smoke your weed
Kinda lines up with the
Drink the piss and smoke your meth
Line from Supecell
There is this line from The Silver Cord Extended:
Drink the gas in the house of fire
It’s all connected

Another observation I meant to share… Stu is SINGING on some of these tracks… more than I’m used to anyway… maybe it’s just because it’s so focused on in the track but like the end of theia extended version… it’s kinda lovely?
I just hit play on the extended version after listening through the short versions a few times. I dig how they let the extended versions veer away from the structure/feel of the short versions. It’s going to be hard to go back to the short cuts now haha.
The drum & bass groove on The Silver Cord is nasty.
Gilgamesh has this little part at the start (about 0:20) where the tone reminds me so much of the part at 4:07 of this song, which is one of my favorite Bob Marley songs. Super quick but I made that connection instantly.
the melody in extinction sounds like the odd couple theme song.
Extended version of supercell? What did I miss?
Ack… Typo! My bad. Corrected it.
Extended version crunchy AF
I’m loving the album. My one minor complaint (and this could change once I listen with headphones) is that the Theia extended cut is a bit too long. There’s a lot there that I like, but I feel like it would’ve been really strong if they had cut it down to 10 minutes like the other tracks.
Can’t figure the length differences out either.
Will take closer comparison, but it also seems that Set extended is the standard version with a lot added on after, while the others are extended in different parts.
Amazing album start to finish. looking forward to some live versions and see how deep the songs will go. favorites might be silver cord and chang‘e extended…gilgamesh at least…bring on some dance nights
I’m getting Orbital vibes in The Silver Cord extended cut. The Box in particular. Definitely bringing that 90s d&b vibes.
