Always a couple of interesting bits when there’s a Spin interview. I’ve updated the OP with the main things, but I’ll note here that Stu finally admits they’re spending less time in studio these days and focusing more on stage. I’m predicting a quiet year or two for studio material from this point
Demo Volumes 7 & 8 have arrived, on Tidal at least - Volume 8 seems to be entirely Changes demos
All studio albums are now name your own price on Bandcamp!
FYI Rat’s Nest (ATO Records) is still the same price.
Looks like all the p(doom) albums are name-your-price.
Not anymore. Bought it today.
Oh snap! Right on.
From today’s p(doom) email newsletter update:
Bootleggers from the latest shows coming real soon too!!

I was listening for the tease of The River in this… do you happen to have a timestamp? Can’t hear it for the life of me.
It’s an Am I In Heaven? tease, not The River. Right at nineteen seconds.
ah there it is! misremembered the tease, thanks
New photo showing Cavs recording in the studio! I feel typically the Ferrari shirt is for heavier music from the PDA era but that probably means nothing.
I think this was from last year when he was in studio with Jim from Mildlife. CAVS 2 coming real soon. Can’t wait!
From the new p(doom) newsletter:
What kinds of sonic experiments — in tuning, instrument-building, or cross-cultural dialogue — are exciting you most at the moment?
- Making techno and bluegrass at the moment. Not at the same time. Well… not yet…"
Sounds like Billy Strings x Gizz was fruitful after all! Plus progress on recorded synth table stuff too.
I really hope there’s a King Billy collab release, but even if he just hung out with them to help with a Bluegrass album it’ll be awesome.
I got my money on a couple tracks (feat. Billy Strings) but less likely a full collab. Who knows, could be wrong, but that’s my inclination right now.
I love that they have two things in the works that will likely be drastically different from each other. Now curious which one we may see before the US shows
I’d be so excited for Gizz’s take on bluegrass. Of course, Stu could just be playing around with bluegrass and not actually bringing it to the band for an album.
