What album are you listening to right now?

I love Sparks. Propaganda is my favourite of theirs, but Kimono my House is a close second for sure.

I finally got to see them live last year at the Royal Albert Hall, it was a hell of a show. The Mael brothers have absolutely still got it. Definitely worth seeing if you can!

Nice work. I paid slightly above median for an original over the summer. To my dismay, I overlooked some hazing and it plays with enough crackle to test my patience.

Today it’s The Feelies - Crazy Rhythms

Amazing new-ish proggy band outta denver, Squeaky Feet. This album ROCKS.

An all timer for me, and perfect for today’s rainy, fall weather.

I was walking around Paso Robles before the show and went into an antiques shop with a great record collection. This album cover caught my eye and I knew why when I picked it up: Deodato’s version of Also Zach Zarathustra is what Phish covers for their version of 2001. The store owner got a kick out of me buying it, he said he only had it on the shelf for a week and would lose a bet to his partner who said it would sell fast.

The music is from 1973, some great Jazz Funk fusion. All instrumental. This song September 13 has a guitar solo at the end that is very obviously an influence on Trey’s sound once Phish blew up. Great listen top to bottom.

Trentemoller The Last Resort on the plane to NoLa until the show starts. Amen to free streams makes the $10 bucks I paid for in flight WiFi feel like a great deal

Genesis - The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway. Turned fifty today. One of my all time favorites. Every time I listen to it the more amazed I am by it.

Wow, 50 today? This is one of my favorite albums of all time, although lately I find myself turning to Selling England to get my Genesis fix.

Winter is here over here….good for calming down after a harrowing drive home from SeaTac last night

I’ve been getting into Jack White’s No Name and The Hard Quartet’s debut, both are pretty amazing. Also, the new Sheet Mag album is great too!

Joe Hawley Joe Hawley, it’s called a comedy hip hop album, but I’m not really sure why it’s called a hip hop album other than the samples. It’s very chaotic, though, and definitely deserves the comedy label.

It’s held the #1 spot on my besteveralbums.com top 100 for almost a decade although it might be time for a change

Never got around to Geese - 3D Country when they were touring with Gizz. Its an outstanding album that makes me want to see them again at a smaller place.

Give this album a listen: Nine Improvisations: Tour '05 (Live)

A band I’ve grown used to few people knowing about or being into. One of the most unique metal bands out there.

Without question has been my favorite of this year, all year, and nothing has even come close.
