Jefferson Airplane - Bark
No doubt this is a dank thread to pick up some new habits. Gotte plug Jack White’s new album, it feeeeeeeels.
Checking out Magdalena Bay for the first time. This is good stuff! And I’m only… this far into Imaginal Disk.
Saw them live in 2022, they are the best thing in pop music right now. Love this new album.
Yeah, Animals is what’s up. It’s probably my favorite PF release at the end of the day.
Currently spinning from the box set, direct from Yellow Springs, Ohio…
The Pyramids - Lalibela
Nektar - … Sounds Like This
I’ve been returning to this one lately. I think it’s cool that it was recorded “live” without an audience–no overdubs and just a few strategically placed mics in the room. Maybe their jammiest. They’re clearly having fun.
Been spinning Pipe-Defy a lot. Also like Allah Las to balance out the heavier stuff, love all their albums but really digging the most recent Zuma 85
Tom Waits - Rain Dogs. Just found an original pressing in near mint condition for cheap today. I really have to dig into his discography more. I’ve liked everything I’ve heard.
Big fan of Tom Waits here. Rain Dogs and Swordfishtrombones will always be top notch but all of his albums are worth experiencing. Closing Time, Early Years Vol. 1, Heartattack and Vine, Frank’s Wild Years, Bone Machine, and Orphans are my favs.
I was fortunate enough to see Tom Waits twice. The best was at the House of Blues in Cleveland for a special midnight performance after he’d already played one show that night in Akron. That really was one of the very best concerts I’ve ever seen.

Jessica Pratt’s Here In The Pitch.
this one is climbing up to one of my favorites from this year. Solid prog/jam band.
I love those guys. Gotta say that they’re at least partially responsible for me getting into Gizzard. Their World War Trio albums really showed me that I could get into harder music. Before then, I’d only tolerated the metal and punk friends played for me. Consider the Source was my own way of taking that step.
I really need to see them again. It’s been a couple of years. The new album is good shit!
Oh that’s an interesting perspective, since for me it’s the flipside. To me these guys are a bit of a gateway into a softer sound since I am predominantly a metal guy. I mean, I listen to music all across the spectrum but metal is more my foundation/core.
This album in particular is their heaviest sounding one to my ears, their other stuff makes me think of jam and even like, psychedelia or psytrance stuff, almost (like Ott or Shpongle)
i’ve never seen em live before, I imagine they put on a cool performance.
