What album are you listening to right now?

Sorry to hear that. Sounds like you’re healing.

Some neighbors to Australia from New Zealand.

We used to see these guys at a bar in the 90s. I was really surprised to find the album on YouTube, there’s some really awesome stuff on here. Kind of wild to hear them doing legalization (plant a seed) and environmental (party in the greenhouse) songs from back then.

I heard them shortly after Garcia died and it scratched my itch for live jamming. A rare thing in a town of 3000 people.

Just recently discovered Angus & Julia Stone. Actually I discovered Dope Lemon first, but then checked his work. Both well worth to listen to.

Doe-pay Lay-moan!

This popped up in my feed the other day.

Julia has such a beautiful voice, great album.

Sometimes you just randomely find some pretty cool stuff.

All instrumental from what I can tell, don’t even know how to call it. Pirate metal? Shanty prog rock? However, it’s cool.

Really digging this! ‘Shanty Prog’ is very apropos.

Reminds me of Dropkick Murpheys a bit (if they used a more traditional rock’n’roll instrumentation).

Those “shanty-esque” licks remind me of a short-lived band called Fang Island. They’re less proggy and don’t have as much of those heavy riffs, but are in the same vein.

Special thanks go to Michael Cavanaugh for wearing that shirt at the Melbourne ‘25 show.

A classic.

Just discovered the album Pure Music by Chase. It’s pretty good.

I’d link it on YouTube but for some reason I’m blocked from posting a link.

It worked!

Wooo! Sick record. Parts of it remind me of Zappa’s big band period (Grand Wazoo/Waka Jawaka) I found a copy at Goodwill earlier this year. It blew me away. Really sad to learn about the tragedy that ended this band.

I’m a big fan of Dan Deacon, I’m really fortunate I got to see him play live a few years ago, the same day Omnium Gatherum was released!
