Poster Question

So, for multi-night/residency shows that have one poster per night, do the merch stands sell all posters at once, or only the poster for the given night?

Usually split up evenly for each night before the first show. If any are left each night they get added to the allotment of the next show. If they end the run with posters still unsold they go to the next date (usually) and get sold along with the next poster.

Somewhat less common that also happens is a variant each night. At the Brixton shows last fall there print was on white poster stock and a seafoam/sage colored stock for night 2.

Thank you both – I’m just really curious what will happen with the posters for the Forest Hills shows in August.

Lines will likely form around midday or early afternoon for folks who want to be on the rail for the show and/or get in first to acquire the poster. If the poster is by an artist other than Galea you’ll have a better chance of scoring the print.

Or you could suck it up and drop $250 on ebay, which is what last summer’s Forest Hills prints seem to be going for these days. Depends on how interested you are in the poster and how you might value your time spent in line to get a poster for face vs. effectively paying someone else a premium to put in the time and effort.

Wow – so I guess I need to pick either a good spot for the show or a poster.

I’ll be in the seats (old guy, bad feet), and I was going to line up early to try to get near my picked-out spot. I assumed I could put down a cushion to hold a seat and then go to the poster line, but maybe not.

FWIW, I arrived at Forest Hills N1 about 30-45mins before doors, chilled in line and made friends. Went to the merch line and got both N1 and N2 posters, then went in and was able to get a seat pretty much dead center like 3 rows back. So you should be fine if you get there 30-45 mins early. Many of the early arrivals want a good spot on the floor IME.
