PALP Festival - Switzerland 8/14/23

Absolutely amazing, what a treat to have this show pro-shot. They look so humble with no screen or lights just in a tent during the day with a fairly small crowd! Stunning location too, the wide shots are great.
I have to say it seems Stu was a bit amped up for the flute in Trapdoor, was pretty all over the place and he never got in control of it, but he was laughing and having a good time anyway which is still fun. Obviously a fantastic setlist all round. Float Along opener, the best half of Quarters back to back, CC > The Fourth Colour, Magma closer!
Easily in the top 5 for me.

The flute was too hot, so it wouldn’t play right, at least that was my take.

Ah yeah true, I don’t know the specifics beyond failing to get any tone at all out of one once, but I do know they are very finnicky instruments. I’ve heard just being sweaty is enough to throw it off so I figured he was generally coming at it too hard. Not hard to imagine that even the altitude could mess with it as well.

Working on a Saturday sucks but at least I have The River from PALP on at full volume.
