My name is Artie, and I manage St Kilda Coffee shops here in NYC – named after a neighborhood in Melbourne. We’ve been huge King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard fans since opening in 2016. In fact, we’ve sent coffee to the band in Melbourne a few times, and I know Lucas enjoyed it, based on what Simoen relayed to us!
I’m writing to you because it would be an absolute honor to host a King Gizzard fan meetup at our cafe before their Forest Hills show in August. We’d be incredibly stoked to organize this purely out of love and appreciation for the band and what their music means to us.
We have experience hosting similar events; for example, we held a meetup for Lucy Dacus’s album release and another for her Radio City tour: team lucy dacus on Instagram: "New York City ☁️ Visit @stkildacoffeenyc tomorrow and Thursday for a special Forever Is A Feeling themed drink. I hope this doesn’t come off as strange, but it would truly be amazing to do something special for a band we admire so much.
