turns 1 today!

One year ago today, on October 19th 2022, was launched.

To mark the occasion, @W.B.T.G.Slinger and @AlteredBeef have penned an excellent write-up on the King Gizzette blog, which details the origins of the site and the volunteers who run it. Thanks so much to everyone who has joined the site, participated in the community or even just taken a look around.

@W.B.T.G.Slinger and I have shared our gratitude in the blog post, but I want to say here how much I appreciate everyone who is a part of, however you participate. We’re building such a meaningful community, and we’ve come so far in just one year. Thank you for sharing your love of King Gizzard and our community here with us.

From my perspective, this has all been astonishing. It has truly been an honor for me to serve as a conduit for the amazing efforts of our team. Just click around our website and you can see the depth that’s there. Every setlist, blog post, image, graphical element, interview, stat, social media post represents the effort of many people. Each one of them has been willing to give time from their day to build a work of love for our community.

And this is only the beginning. We’ve known that from the start. will live on, and it’s thanks to you. Tell your friends, ask them to join us, play Gizzard songs at high volume from open windows, and keep sharing your  here. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any feedback, thoughts, ideas, questions, or ramblings.

There are so many people to thank, around 1,300 to be more precise, so we made this video listing every user who has registered an account in our first year as a way to say thanks to the community. See if you can spot your handle!

What a year it has been! I had no clue what I was getting into when I reached out to join the team and its been a blast

Woohooo thanks everyone!!

I wish people would’ve just registered alphabetically.
This would make it so much easier!

Anyway, I’m very glad this site exists, happy birthday!
