Noise is a difficult thing to make a playlist out of, so I was mostly just trying to see what everyone would make of it when I suggested the category.
I actually had no idea that Plastic Ono Band was a pair of albums, I have only heard (and love!) the John one so Iām very pleased to get into some Yoko weirdness as a result of this.
I thought it was really cool to see so many different takes on what makes something ānoiseā adjacent. A couple bands I know well and love (Tortoise, Lounge Lizards) would never have crossed my mind for the category, but made total sense in the playlist. Iām almost to the point where the category has nothing to do with my rankings.
This is where Iām at. Iām pretty much voting based on how much I personally enjoy each song.
Never heard of Lounge Lizards but that song was really fun and well suited. It actually got stuck in my head which I donāt usually expect from ānoiseā.

Yeah, this may be the best single playlist across rounds so far. Hearing Leah Senior makes me wonder why no one has tested the waters with a Gizz track yet. Maybe this calls for an all-Gizz round in the future? It would also be cool to do non-Gizz tracks that feature members of the band.

Were you across it before? It has blown up massively over the last 6 months or so for a debut single. They had a strong underground build with their live show and got in with good management/major label very early, but its still shockingly well put together.
I remember thinking how has no one made this song before? the first time I heard it, sounds fresh but also like everyoneās favourite band from 20 years ago at the same time.
