I found a pretty interesting article about Iggy and his body and there is no place for it, so I just post it here.
What an odd subject to write an article about haha! But a good read all the same.
Incidentally a couple days ago I scored a ticket to his show at Ally Pally next year right in the middle of the Gizz tour. Kinda throws a wrench in the travel plans but I’m super stoked, the Stooges were such a revelation to me as a teenager but I’ve never had the chance to catch any of them live until now.
Almost 79 at that point and still more energy than many 30years old have:
Iggy is fantastic. Had the luck to see him live a while ago.
Def. on my bucket list of artists to see, just haven’t been able to make it work on the rare occasions that he’s out my way.
I’ve been lucky enough to see him 4 times. Once with the reformed Stooges, with Mike Watt on bass. The first two times, I thought his band had a bit of a hair metal sound I wasn’t wild about, though it was still a good show and Iggy was wild. The last time I saw him, maybe seven years ago, the band sounded amazing. Iggy was still wild, despite recovering from an injury and using a cane at times!
Anyway, see him if you get the opportunity!
100% agree, go see Iggy! An American Treasure.
10 yrs ago he did that album with members of Queens of the Stone Age, Post Pop Depression. Was on the fence about going, decided what the heck, and was so glad I did. He’s got a stage presence and ability to engage with an audience that blew me away. And of course, he walked on stage wearing a leather jacket, white tee, and leather pants, and halfway through the first song the jacket and shirt were gone, never to be seen again.
Yeah! That was the tour with the exceptional band. I knew it was someone of note. Great tour and album!
And he wears no shirt. That’s a thing I really like about him, he gives a shit about what others think and Is not ashamed about his old body.
