Anyone know the significance of this dig against Mike Love in the track title for Bullant’s 2.02 Killer Year remix off Butterfly 3001?

I don’t think there’s a specific reason (outside of the Beach Boys being mentioned in 2.02 Killer Year) but Love is a controversial figure in the band’s history who divided its members in a lot of ways. The big sticking point was/is his stance that the band should stick to more formulaic material despite Wilson trying to experiment with Pet Sounds and SMiLE. He’s since taken credit for some of that stuff which is debatable. Adding onto that he’s made multiple public appearances that are hard to stomach, the most famous being the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction speech where he interrupts Brian to insult other bands.
That’s just the tip of the iceberg but, all that said, Love is not the worst person in Beach Boy’s history. Looking at you, Eugene Landy.

I think it has wayyy more to do with Mike Love’s ongoing vocal support for the spray-tanned dumpster fire in the Oval Office, than any thing he did w/ the Beach Boyz. Joey has been pretty outspoken regarding his distaste for DJT. And rightfully so, that guy is terrible.
