Literature thread - What are you reading?

i just finished reading Puerto Rican novel named ANIMAL SPIRAL by Luis Othoniel Rosa. It’s a scifi epic spanning 300 years charting mankind’s transhumanist ascension to a radically anarchist utopia.

The simple premise: 34 cables connecting two human brains unlocking a new path of evolution towards The Animal, a collectivist consciousness that blankets the planet.

The book’s gimmick is that the chapters are formatted in a spiral pattern with two ways to read it: straight through, or jumping around to straighten out the chronology. Me and another writer are writing a joint review after each reading it a different way, then we connect our brains… oh and the chapter numbers are all Fibonacci numbers. It’s a mind bending time.

Right now the bone ship trilogy by RJ Barker. A nice fantasy story in a not that usual setting with vivid characters. In volume 2 now, I like it so far, can develop in some pretty interesting ways.

Well, let’s say you were trying to kill 30min for some reason, please consider Moby Dick. I’ve been tipped off a few times over the years but only started recently and holy smokes, it’s a good one! What I didn’t know was that it’s a riot. Shakes you to the core, but now I can’t leave home without it. Looks like a bible too.

This sounds cool as all hell. Definitely share your reviews when they’re published.

I just finished Leviathan Wakes, the first book of The Expanse and really enjoyed it. Watching the show now which the writers seemed to have improved on weaker parts of the book.

Also just finished The Galton Case by Ross Macdonald. Cool book. Weird plot. The Lew Archer character may be the coolest detective. So droll and low key hilarious.
