I recently gave spotify the boot also. If you are in the uk and on the EE network you are entitled to 6 months free subscription to apple music ![]()
Spotifys greatest crime was getting people to think the lack of HD sound option was the norm. I moved to Amazon Music years ago. If you are looking for a combination of low cost, high quality streaming and the largest libraries, then unfortunately I think Amazon Music or Apple Music (if you use iPhone) are probably your best options. At least that is what I found when i looked several years ago. Maybe Tidals album selection has improved since then? It still costs more, so asking fans to pay more when artists themselves aren’t making the ethical decision (outside of a handful of bands) kinda sucks.
Big thanks is due to @TimelandIsWacky who wrote it!!

I switched to Tidal back when Neil Young left Spotify. They have pretty much all popular releases, the album selection for more niche music has been improving since I made the switch, the sound quality is better, and from what I can tell they have the highest artist payments. The app is very similar to Spotify, I haven’t had any issues using it or figuring out how to do things.
